This was the one that got away by all accounts as Worthing chased 226 to win at Glynde. Worthing were cruising at 140-ish for 3 until a collapse led to them hanging on 9 wickets down.
The pick of the bowlers for the visitors was Stuart Carter whose seamers got him 5 for 66 and Shane Felton grabbed 2 for 67 on Glynde's small ground. Dave Marshallsay batted well for 58 and Carter contributed 42, but too many batters got out too cheaply.
That's two games that really should have been won now, and two draws to show for it. It's an encouraging start for the side on their quest for promotion.
