A few regulars out so having won the toss Worthing elected to field. The innings started well with a few early wickets going to J.Belton (3-34). A.Pelling scored 101 for Felbridge until he was bowled by Alex Anderson (1-28). Other wickets fell to Greg Harris (1-66), Harry Reeves (1-24) on debut for Worthing, and Sam Wookey (1-15)
Felbridge ended up 206-7 declared.
Worthing then had 46 overs to bat for the win but unfortunately our unbeaten run this year has come to an end, along with the top of the table position. We lost the top three cheaply, but player of the day Marc Hinton continued to impress and tried his best to get us some batting points. He faced just 42 balls and hit 10 fours on his way to a great 56, well done to Marc on scoring his first senior 50! Great to see a youngster performing well and showing the seniors how to do it. A shame no-one was able to stick with him as he was clearly batting well. Alex Anderson did manage to put up some resistance at the end getting 7* from 16 balls. Unfortunately Worthing were all out for 93 meaning we picked up just 4 points from the match, whereas Horsham Trinity take over the number one spot in the league picking up another 30 points.
We'll have to get back to winning ways next week against Rustington 2XI in what is always a great match!
