Worthing consolidated their position as league leaders with a four-wicket victory at Pulborough. The highlight was a superb spell of 9 for 49 from Stuart Carter (he joins Paul Westlake and Andy Lutwyche in the "9 for" club), as the home side collapsed from a promising base, led by skipper Paul Allen's 61, to be dismissed for 154, inside 39 overs. After Worthing had been reduced to 32 for 3 in reply, Carter then joined forces with David Rogers in a commanding partnership of 115. A late flurry of wickets made the final margin of victory slightly deceptive.
