"Never put Ifield in at Ifield" were the words of Ifield 2s skipper as Justin Watts opted to field first having won the toss. By 7pm the answer to that statement was "Why not?" as Worthing cruised to a comfortable 8 wicket victory and opened up an 84 point lead on third placed Haywards Heath.
Mason Crane's 4 for 29 and Paul Westlake's 2 for 42 were the main destroyers as Ifield limped to 141 all out from 50 overs - an innings that will struggle to attract too much of a crowd to Ifield Green in the future. There was a wicket each for Tom Chambers, Harry Dunn and Stuart Carter.
Worthing's reply stuttered initially with the losses of Dave Marshallsay and Stuart Carter for 9 and 0 respectively, but a cool 75 not out for Chairman Tim Dunn and a form rediscovering 46 not out from Alex Harris with 14 overs to spare.

21.5.11 - 2nd XI v Ifield 2nd XI
A convincing win for the 2s again. Having won the toss skipper Justin watts put Ifield in and was rewarded for this decision when his bowlers rolled them for 127. Wickets were shared around with Paul Westlake taking 4 for 40, Harry Dunn 3 for 29, Bradley Lewis 2 for 8 and Stuart Carter 1 for 45.
The winning margin could have been a lot larger than the 6 wickets it actually was due to some rash shots, but the victory margin was convincing enough and the march up the table has now reached the summit, where the side intends to stay no doubt.
